Welcome back to this amazingly fabulous blog by yours truly. Obviously, you all loved my first blog and the pressure to perform and do just as well on my next one tired me out completely so there hasn’t been one in a while. It is a hard life to be so talented and under so much pressure, let me tell you. Anyways, today’s topic is something I am sure all of you can relate to - How to stay and look young!
Looking fabulous has never been an issue for me, I mean, just look at me!
But I know not everyone is as naturally blessed as me and perhaps need a little bit of help.
You should see Alleria in the morning, horrifying!
Looking great at all times can be hard work, but if you follow the following advice, I promise that you will look will look young and fresh forever, and without having to turn yourself into an immortal (although that helps too).
Stress, stress, stress, that is all we ever do. It is terrible for your pores and worst case, all your hair might fall out!
Like that time someone put hair removal in Isla's shampoo. Priceless! We do not want that, so it is good to take a breather once in a while to only focus on yourself and block out the rest of the world. Most “so called expert” would tell you to use this time to exercise and stay fit, bla bla, but that is boring and way too much work to be considered a break. Neither is it de-stressing! Being sweaty and icky would only add to my anxiety. Just eww! No, napping and going to the spa is a much better use of your time. Actually, being a couch potato also works wonder for me but of course, that shouldn’t be attempted by everyone as it has a very high risk of making you get stuck amidst the pillows and you might sprout roots. Also, potatoes aren’t always very pretty…
Of course, it is supposed to only be the “healthy kind” but I don’t see that harm in snacking on a piece of chocolate once in a while. It is good for your heart, makes you happy and gives you a glow unlike anything else. I say, eat as much candy as you like! Be sweet inside and out!
If you are more traditional (aka boring), eating fish and walnuts etc should boost your energy which is good I suppose. I am not a firm believer that you are what you eat tho, so go stuff your face with whatever you like. Imagine if you ate fast food only that is kinda the same as garbage - would that make your trash? Nah, that just sounds ridiculous.
Oh and one last advice! Don’t befriend Ryan if you want to stay healthy or not walk around feeling starving! He makes you go to Subway 3 times a week and encourages a 4th and 5th visit. Too many damned sandwiches! He also finds it strange how normal people eat more than once a day, so don’t expect to be fed if you go visit him. It’s like the man never learned proper manners or how to be a good host! The young generations really have a lot to learn about receiving guests.
Banish boredom and isolation and find yourself a fling! It doesn’t have to be a person, although that is a lot of fun too. ;) Take up painting, figure skating, start a running program (no, ew, effort), or perhaps start a book club! Anything to boost your confidence and make you feel good. Someone wise once said (No, it wasn’t me this time, but it could have been!): "Loving touches release hormones, including oxytocin, that reduces stress and anxiety." Sounds fancy, but all it really means is that being passionate about something will make you feel better about yourself. Even better, of course, is having a guy, or a girl, or both, who you connect with and want to spend time with. Personally, I like to mix it up and move on to the fresh meat as often as possible to keep it from becoming stale and boring, but some prefer monogamy. Good for them, I suppose...
Oh, we have to remember the wise words of Demi Lovato:
You don’t have to tell me twice! In fact am sipping a lovely Baurdoux as I am writing this and it is heavenly, let me tell you.
Wrinkles are not a girl’s best friend. We all dream of flawless skin, but let’s be honest, we all need a little bit of help to smooth out the creases once in a while. Although creams and moisturizers can do wonders, I have always found honey to be a lifesaver. Yes, it is perhaps a bit sticky, but get the most amazing golden glow and you smell heavenly. Too bad Iain Hepburn didn’t take my advice before... Umm… well, you have seen him so you know what I mean. I suppose he can get away with it since men only look more dignified with age, but anyways.
Another great trick is to use lemon juice or yogurt to bleach your hair rather than that artificial and nasty looking paste they have in hair dye. It is always better to use natural ingredients than that fake stuff you get in stores. Besides, why use money when you get nature’s goodness for free! There is one exception tho. I am not so sure I am a fan of this new line of all natural makeup made from ground up bugs and coral. Who wants to go around with beetle eyeliner even if it does look ever so pretty?
Humor keeps you young and with a little wink and a chuckle, you can get away with most things. You would think that the best places to go when you want a good laugh would be the cinema or a comedy club or something, but I have a much better idea! Sneak into a yoga class and I promise that you will not be disappointed! Imagine, total beginners with their bum in the air and trying to contort their old bodies into positions that are not humanly possible, only to fall flat on their face. Hilarious! Also, I don’t think I have ever had as much fun as when I witnessed Sophia Westwood chase after a paper bag that was caught in the wind and her skirt threatened to be taken by the wind as well! Dear lord, I am laughing just thinking about it or the time Kordan failed to get on one of Alleria’s horses and fell off. Haha, classic!
Well, I hope you are all a bit wiser and younger. Who are we kidding? No matter how many of these pieces of advice you follow you will never get close to looking like me.
Ps. Had to include this gif since it perfectly sums up two of my excellent advice ;)
