Welcome back to Meet the Staff. Today, we continue to chat with the lovely lemon Management and next on the list is Rylynn Blackwood. She the amazing and mysterious Events Leader!
Thank you for meeting with me Rylynn :D I know you have a busy schedule making parties and plotting stuff, so I appreciate that you took time to talk to me. Now, let's begin...
What is the best thing about being the Events team leader?
Helping create and plan the events of course! What could be better xD The thing I enjoy being about leader the most is probably watching everyone enjoy the events, have fun, and a laugh. I love seeing people smile and it brings me joy and warmth to know that something I helped with gave them a smile.
What is one thing the Events team does that most people on site don't know about?
That would probably be how much work actually goes into making an event. I didn't even realise how much work there was! First you have to brainstorm and think of the idea, then you have to work together figuring out what needs to be done. Next you need divy out the tasks, and if there is collaboration between other staff members helping make sure they know what to do and how to help. A lot of communication is involved, and of course making sure everything gets done on time!
In your opinion, what makes WoMF a great place to be and why did you want to be apart of the site?
I absolutely love the site, even though it is a bit small, but I can't wait to see it grow! The staff are extremely amazing and I have been here since before the site opened and have enjoyed working with everyone! All of the students are amazing as well and it makes me happy to see them enjoy being on the site and taking a part in it, we couldn't do it without any of you!
Could you give us a small hint about an upcoming event? *angelface*
Just always keep an eye for what is around the corner ;) You never know what or who may be lurking, it might be time to get ready for a mystery ;)
Alyse: Don't forget to join the ongoing plot everyone!
What one fact about you and your character that most people don't know?
Hmmmm an IG fact, let me think...... Rylynn may seem harsh and hard on the outside without seeming to care at all, but she is honestly one of the most sweetest people you could ever get to meet on the inside. She only pretends to not care because she doesn't want to hurt those she loves. Due to some instances in her past Rylynn even fears herself and sometimes despises who she is, and so she feels pushing people away to keep them safe may be the better option.
Now for a fact OOG: I don't think this is something I have ever told anyone before. Roses are a huge part of my life. It all started with a character I had made and her middle name was Rose. I used it as a symbol of new life, for her mother's middle name was Winter, and Carina Rose was born in the spring. Ever since that day Roses have been a symbol of life for me. Often times you will see my profile pic as a rose, or backgrounds with roses. I will have roses mentioned in topics, but I never explain why. During the winter everything can seem dull, there are no flowers blooming, no signs of new life, but in the spring is when you can start to see the rose buds. They bloom and grow opening one pedal at a time unraveling the mystery and beauty they hold until they have fully bloomed and they shine so brightly. Whenever things seem down I just think of it like winter and keep pushing forward till I start to see a rose bloom again and keep in mind that winter will never be forever, but a rose will come again and bring the sign of beauty and a precious and beautiful life.
What skill would you like to master?
I would have to say communication. Not in terms of communicating about my job, but in terms of communicating and just talking to others. Letting them know what is going on in my life, the good and the bad. Seeing how they are doing, just enjoying others company and taking the time out to spend with them instead of my nose buried in my work and letting all that time pass by.
What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
A trip to England! Or really to the other side of the world. For people who didn't know me when I was younger, I used to hate traveling, very much so. I always said I was going to live at home, was never going to leave and I didn't even want to go out of state for uni. Now I just want to travel, and I have a reason to travel. I have met so many wonderful people, and I just want to take a trip to see them all! First goal to England, then Ireland, and then the Netherlands and wherever else I want to go! #Bigdreams
What is your spirit animal?
I used to not be able to pick just one spirit, instead I would have had about three or four depending on my mood that day. Sometimes I would feel more like a black stallion being so majestic and mysterious as well as protective of his herd. Then there was also the black swan. Very loving, caring and loyal to those around it and those it cared about, as well as having a motherly love. The dolphin for its intelligence and playfulness, always up for the challenge as well protective of its pod.
Looking at all of these I finally chose an animal that I think is my spirit animal, the Pink Dolphin. So majestic from its beautiful colour as well as its beauty, but also mysterious as well. Loving, caring and loyal to its pod and those it cares about the Pink Dolphin is always ready to defend at a moments notice abd protect its family and friends. They are intelligent creatures sometimes swimming even on their own and accept any challenges that are given to them. Socially they can be as well as playful and light-hearted, this is the one that best describes my spirit animal.
What is love?
What really is the definition of love? It is used so much in our culture today for many different things. "I love that cake!" or "I am so in love with this movie!" To me, that is more of an extreme like. How far and willing are you wanting to go to get that cake you love so much. What if that movie is not on Netflix, say you have to pay for it, every time you want to rewatch it and it is kinda hefty. Are you willing to go to extreme lengths and pay all that extra money for that movie?
I like to use the term unconditional love. This love comes with a price we will never be able to pay, it is actually priceless. The love you have for family and friends and they have for you, can never be replaced by anything else, nor can ever be bought. Because this love is unconditional it is so important to cherish every moment you have with it, because once that moment has passed, it's gone and you can never get it back. It is so important to take time out of our day to spend even half an hour with them, to never look back and wished we had spent more time than we actually did with them. Everything else such as the movie we love so much is only temperamental things, whereas unconditional love will be there forever and we must take time and advantage of that before it is too late. You never know the last time you will talk to someone, that you will see them, never take anything for granted. That is a lesson that can be very hard to learn, and isn't an easy one. I myself used to take a lot of things for granted, always thinking that whenever I needed it, it would be right there for me. I learned that lesson the hard way.
There are two quotes I live by which can go hand in hand. "Don't blink and let your star fly by." If you don't pay attention to those around you and those that care about you and only stay buried in your work or yourself, you lose valuable time with them that can never be gained back, and sometimes can lose the one you care about.
"Don't blink and let your life fly by." Life goes a lot quicker than we give it credit for. I used to wish away my childhood and I couldn't wait until I became an adult. I look back now and regret wishing so much instead of just living the moment as I don't have as many childhood memories as I would have liked. Now that I know and understand, I live life to its fullest always living in the moment and doing the best I can to be there for those I care about and spend time with them. There is never such a thing as saying "I love you" too much, or never too much time spent with those you care about and love. this is what love is to me.
Thank you, Rylynn for taking the time out of your busy schedule and fabulous life to speak to us. It was a joy getting to know you a bit better!
Next week we will be chatting to the one and only, Faerynn Roussaux. Fae is the last of the golds and after that, we will move on to teachers! Can't wait!
